16-19 Nov. 2023 My new work, based on the high altitude landscape of the Peruvian Mountains, can be seen as a requiem. A requiem for my sister (+2021), the glaciers and the old ways of indigenous people. In 2022 I hiked trough Peru with my then 14-year-old son. I purposefully looked for high mountains with fog, inspired by the Tibetan Book of the Death on which the dance film Mist (by Damien Jalet, performed by the NDT1 The Hague) and the book and film adaption The Eight Mountains by Paolo Cognetti are also based.
